TESTIMONIALS & WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT
Jeff Ray
Tutku's classes have been such a powerful tool for me on my path to healing. I always leave feeling refreshed, grounded and clear. The emphasis on digestive practices is my favorite part. These practices work on the physical level as well as the emotional level for me. the next days after her classes I am less bloated, digest my food better and feel clear and strong in my emotions. Tutku, thank you for being who you are and doing what you do. I love being your student.

Where do I begin to share my lovely journey with Tutku? I knew there were memories held deep within my tissues that I couldn’t access, and I needed a firm yet gentle hand to guide me. My nervous system was in a constant state of fight or flight and talk therapy typically made it worse. Using somatic psychotherapy, Tutku gave space for my voice and deftly guided me into the truth and wisdom of my body to access and release emotions and memories long ignored. Finally, we began a Rolfing series. I was prepared for some form of medieval torture, but instead, I was held with a gentle firmness specific to my needs and tolerance. All sessions helped move my nervous system back to center, but one session really stands out. The positive shift was remarkable, I felt more grounded and stable, as if the world became a safer place. I’m grateful for Tutku’s presence, character and skills - she’s a true healer and a beautiful soul.

I've been working personally with Tutku for over 3 years now and I can think of no one else who I'd rather do somatic integration and internal work with. When you're with her you have her undivided attention and support. Her kindness, intuition, and calm and loving nature create a beautiful space to show up authentically and know that everything is being held with love. There are no judgements, only acceptance and her beautiful, open heart. I look forward to each session with her, even if I'm not feeling in the right head-space or heart-space. I know that when our time is over that I'll be feeling more grounded, integrated, and at peace. Highly recommend her 1:1 sessions. I also really enjoy the variety of events that the TOI holds weekly. There's usually a lovely selection of different things going on. All held in the same open, authentic environment where everyone is welcome and cared for. It's truly a beautiful place to let your spirit and heart take rest.

In my eight years of practice I have had only a handful of teachers with whom I aim to practice on a weekly basis. I am very selective in choosing a teacher. Tutku is a teacher with whom I would practice anywhere, anytime. The great depth of her compassion and her joyful, open heart welcome all who enter her class and the great breadth of her knowledge of yoga enables her to assist everyone who attends her class. She serves as an inspiring model of the real goal of yoga which I have heard expressed this way, “May I leave no one out of my heart.” Tutku’s gentle guidance in postures and enlightened approach to practice have substantially enhanced my life. I am fortunate and grateful that I have had Tutku in my life as a teacher.

I am beyond grateful for the transformative journey I experienced with Tutku as my somatic guide. From our very first session, she made clear her profound understanding of the body-mind connection and that her compassionate approach would lead me to new depths of self-discovery. Tutku has an incredible ability to help you feel more deeply and to process what can often seem overwhelming. She skillfully guided me to the essence of my feelings, allowing me to peel back layers of confusion and resistance. Her unwavering support and encouragement proved vital. Tutku never rushed the process; instead, she honored my journey, providing space for me to unfold in my own time. Her insights were both profound and practical, helping me to integrate my experiences into my daily life. I can wholeheartedly recommend Tutku to anyone seeking to deepen their emotional awareness and connect with their authentic self. Her expertise in somatic and other practices, and her intuition combined with her warm and empathetic nature, makes her an exceptional guide. Thanks to her, I now have more tools to navigate my emotions with greater clarity and understanding. Thank you, Tutku, for your incredible work and for being such a vital part of my healing journey. You are a true gift to those who are fortunate enough to work with you.

Tutku’s deep commitment to her own spiritual journey and practices has been an inspiration in my life. I feel fortunate to have had the gift of working with Tutku over several sessions to support me in a time of great transition and renewal. Tutku’s grounding presence, deep wisdom and welcoming humor created a space that allowed me to feel safe to show up exactly as I was. As someone who tends to retreat into my mind out of safety, she would always gently smile, and guide me back to my body and hold a sacred space for us to be present with what was arriving in the here and now. She has a strong intuitive ability to sense what is needed in each session as well as in each moment. Some days, I would be so tired, I questioned how I was going to show up for myself in session, only to find she had her table already warmed up and ready for me to simply receive. Tutku carries an embodied reverence for the unseen world—she knows how to honor spirit and the elements with humility and intention. Whether through ritual, prayer, or the simple act of lighting a candle, she gives offerings to the divine as a way of life. Her relationship with Spirit feels lived-in and sincere, rooted in daily practice and deep listening. Being in her presence reminds me of the sacredness woven into all things and of the beauty that is inherent in devotion both to the light and the dark. Tutku has helped me learn to honor my own journey—not just the light-filled parts, but the shadows too. With her support, I’ve become better at accepting that everything belongs—the joy, the grief, the mess, the beauty. She’s reminded me that healing isn’t about fixing, but about welcoming all of it with gentleness and lightheartedness.

I have now attended several sessions with Tutku. When I signed on I was looking for a set of exercises for stretching, and to find a way to relax, like meditation. QiGong was the answer to the stretching part of it. You certainly get a Tai Chi type of gentle movement with the slow methodical exercises. But you get a lot more than just stretching. A significant piece of time is spent sitting across the small space on the comfy cushions in her beautiful studio, candles burning on the table next to you, and you explore things like 'what is important to me?'. It is a thoughtful exchange of ideas on what makes us tick, and what is spiritually important to us. It is very thought heavy, in a good way! It is a very tailored and individualized approach. Tutku is very thoughtful, and intuitive, with a high level of regard for people and nature. She thinks in a very flexible way, and is very capable in drawing out possible avenues to get to where you want to go. You leave the session feeling very light and positive. I highly recommend spending time exploring all of these things with Tutku.

There are no words that feel big enough to fully express what Tutku and her work have meant to me, but I’ll try. She is an extraordinary somatic psychotherapy teacher whose presence, care, and depth have touched my life in ways I never imagined possible.I came to Tutku during one of the hardest chapters of my life. Everything felt like it was falling apart at once—my foundation, my sense of safety, my identity. I was overwhelmed, raw, and unsure of how to move forward. In our one-on-one sessions,
Tutku held space for me with a level of compassion, patience, and attunement that allowed me to feel truly seen and supported. Together, we went deep into somatic healing and inner child work, gently uncovering layers of pain I had carried for years, and in many cases, my entire life. What makes Tutku so special is the way she meets you exactly where you are—without judgment, without rushing, and without trying to “fix” you. She creates a space where your body feels safe enough to speak, and where healing unfolds naturally, even when the process is intense and emotional.
