AHO ŞIFA COLLECTIVE & ALTAR
Chonie Vargas & Tutku Tezveren
Aho Şifa Collective is our shared home a sanctuary of sound, medicine, and healing. The name itself carries the prayer of our work. Aho is a word of acknowledgment, gratitude, and reverence rooted in Chonie’s Native American lineage. Şifa means healing in Tutku’s Anatolian Turkic roots. Together, the name speaks to devotion, service, and remembrance.
We are the visionary creators of the Aho Şifa Altar, a sacred ceremonial space woven from the many Amazonian and earth and cosmos and cosmology based lineages we have walked over the past 2 decades. United in purpose, we lead trauma informed, somatic, and shamanic healing containers that bridge body and soul, science and spirit. Our work blends ancient healing traditions with present moment learning, creating environments that are safe, deeply intuitive, and integrative for personal and collective transformation.
Chonie Vargas, rooted in California, carries Chiricahua Apache, Mexican, and Irish ancestry. Her healing journey began in Peru with the Paititi Institute and continued through mentorship in Canada, where she trained in channeling, holistic healing, and musical mastery. She is a Creative, Musician, Curandera, Soul Coach holding a BA in Multicultural and Gender Studies. Known in Spanish as Ascensión, she embodies transformation and visionary leadership. Through her Soul Coaching platform, Chonie now offers Shamanic Mentorship Programs dedicated to awakening the soul gifts within each being.
Tutku Tezveren, originally from Türkiye, carries Turkic, Greek, Balkan, and Mesopotamian lineages. Her global journey led her into deep study with Shipibo and Quechuan Peruvian traditions, alongside over a decade of devotion to Tantra Yoga, Qigong, and embodied spiritual practice. She is a somatic psychotherapist, ceremonial facilitator, QiTanYo practitioner, singer, and wellness guide. Tutku has recently graduated from her second year of Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy & ISITTA training and continues as an assistant and faculty member, weaving trauma informed, body centered therapy, ritual, and mindfulness into her work through Soma & Soul Integrative Counseling.
Together, we bring a powerful, complementary union. Chonie holds the visionary, shamanic, and soul level guidance. Tutku anchors the somatic shamanics, nervous system based, and trauma sensitive integration. Our containers are crafted with great care and intention, offering both collective ceremonial spaces and individualized support. We often say our work is togetherness and alone time held at once a balance of group ritual and one on one somatic doctoring, intention setting, clearing, and deep listening.
We create and steward our own medicine on the Big Island of Hawai‘i with reverence, sustainability, and conscious relationship to land and lineage. Music, sound technology, song, and spoken word are central to our work, serving as channels for present moment insight and healing for individuals, the group, and the greater collective.
Our containers serve creatives, musicians, therapists, and healers, as well as people from all walks of life including doctors, nurses, lawyers, educators, and those working within corporate and public systems who are committed to real change. What unites those who come is a willingness to feel, to listen, and to integrate.
Shama Soma was born from a collective calling for true integration a sacred dance between the grounded intelligence of the body and the expansive wisdom of the shamanic, visionary soul. Through our introductory and ongoing offerings, we support the nervous system and the soul simultaneously, always with continued integration, follow up, and care. in our year long apprenticehip jouneys.
