Finding Refuge in Silence & Nature in This Wild Thing Called Our Life …
Updated: Feb 20

Beloved,
I’m so grateful you’ve found your way to this sanctuary.
May these words stir something true in you,
something that rings true to your heart & soul.
Integration is our every day walk here.
Take a breath, you’ve arrived…
Finding Refuge in Silence & Nature in This Wild Thing Called Our Life …
Silence is one of the greatest teachers I have. When words fall away, something ancient and wiser begins to speak in my heart. In the silence, my body softens, my mind clears, and my heart remembers what truly matters.
To sit in silence is to let oneself be breathed by nature. In stillness, we learn to listen again. Not only with our ears but with our whole being. We listen to the world around us, most importantly the world within us. Silence can teach us that authenticity is not a state of achievement, but our innate and natural state of our being where our innate goodness and caring heart naturally bubbles up.
Imagine if more leaders, even for a few breaths each day, sat in mindful, kind, caring silence and listened deeply, reflected sincerely, and allowed the stillness to shape our actions.
What healing might ripple through our families, our communities, our precious planet?
In these times, when the Earth and her beings carry so much, purposeful silence can be the best soul medicine. It return us to clarity and to the freedom of knowing where to place our attention and care.
And so find refuge where you are. Let silence restore you. Let nature remind you. Let gratitude and praise become your daily practice. These words reverberated through the silence and into the circle of prayer. It is a reminder that in slowing down, in deeply resting, in listening to nature, silence, and each other, we rediscover the simple truths that nourish us: mindful eating, mindful walking, mindful breathing. Loving-kindness. Gratitude. Rest as teacher.
May this year of attunement, clarity, and freedom ripple beyond one life into the collective. In this spirit, a prayer took form as an offering to World Central Kitchen, an organization founded by Chef José Andrés that delivers nourishing meals to communities in crisis whether after natural disasters or amid the devastations of war.
Their work is a living example of how food, the most basic form of love, can become prayer in action.
I invite you, if it feels true in your heart, to also share in this prayer act whether by donating to World Central Kitchen or by offering food and resources within your own community. In this way, the nourishment we receive becomes nourishment we extend, and our meals themselves become blessings shared.
So as September unfolds, the invitation is simple: let us all find moments of refuge in silence, let us allow ourselves to be breathed by nature, let us count blessings and give praise and share it forward. May we walk gently with this planet, in gratitude for the wild and precious life we are each given.
Thank you for being here.
With devotion,
Tutku
